Attack Surface Management

Attack Surface Management (ASM) is the continuous discovery, inventory, and monitoring of an organization’s internal and external assets to understand what is visible and reachable by an attacker. ASM provides the visibility layer that other offensive security disciplines, including automated penetration testing and business-logic testing, build upon.

ASM typically covers two overlapping areas: external-facing assets like exposed servers, domains, and cloud services, and internal cyberassets like endpoints, networked devices, and applications under an organization’s direct control. Together, these give security teams a complete, continuously updated picture of what needs to be tested.

Ridge Security ASM support: Its Attack Surface Discovery capability continuously identifies external and internal facing assets before testing them for exploitability, turning attack surface visibility into prioritized, actionable risk.
